A 27-year-old police officer was driving under the influence and had an accident in the city of La Plata. The events occurred during the early morning of Saturday on 50th Street between 30 and 31. The vehicle he was driving, a Chevrolet Prisma, flipped over on the public road and was reported by a neighbor who called 911. Following the alert, a patrol unit arrived at the scene, finding the driver, identified as Isaac Fernando Pérez Cisneros, outside the vehicle in an evident state of intoxication and with a defiant attitude towards his colleagues.
Breathalyzer tests revealed that the officer had 2.11 g/L of alcohol in his blood, a figure that quadrupled the legal limit. During the accident, the Chevrolet Prisma collided with a parked Ford Ka, causing damage to the other vehicle. The owner of the Ford Ka, a 23-year-old woman, arrived at the scene and confirmed the damages incurred.
After the incident, the Forensic Cabinet took charge of the scene, and a review of the images from the La Plata Monitoring Center was requested to clarify the event. The case was classified as "Injuries from an accident and damage" and was placed under the jurisdiction of the Public Prosecutor's Office for Negligent Crimes No. 12, headed by prosecutor Fernando Padovan. Alongside the criminal investigation, administrative procedures were initiated within the police force, since the implicated individual is an active officer.
